I Love You Ba x

Hi everyone :)

Quick post today

This day 15 years ago was a tragic day for my family. We lost a mother, a grandmother, a wife and an all round amazing woman. That woman was my Ba (Grandma).
I was just about to turn one so unfortunately I was too young to remember much but everything I've heard about her was always positive. She was loved by everyone.

Gone but not forgotten.

Rest In Peace Ba.

31 Days of Nail Art Challenge - Day 4 - Green

Green.

Again, like orange, a colour I never used to wear very much...

Buuut... Now I love it! I actually have so many green polishes now but they're all so different!

My entry for yellow was really simple so I thought I should put a bit more of an effort in, so I chose....

Magnetic polish!
This is Barry M Magnetic Green Sparkle over H+M Envy Me.
I decided to layer it over a darker polish as the formula for the latest Barry M Magnetics are quite thin and so it was just easier to do less layers of polish. Also, looking at these photos, I think the dark base adds a bit of depth to the overall look too.
And there's holographic glitter in the too!

Magnetic polish is such a cheap and easy way to make your nails look more interesting!

I'm still here, I promise!

Hi everyone :)

First of all I just want to apologize for the fact that I've kinda disappeared over the past week. It's just been a really hard week, health-wise. I was sent home twice, couldn't even make it in another day and I've just generally been in a lot of pain.... So yeah, I'm sorry.

But I promise I haven't forgotten about the blog or you, my wonderful readers! Hopefully I'll get back to posting regularly soon, but for the time being lets just see what happens.

I didn't really prep anything to post so I'll just show you some new bits and bobs I've got over the past week (okay, my mum got most of this for me) :)

First is.... Free nail polish!! Mum spotted that these were free with a magazine when she went to Tesco and thought of me and got both colours! Ah I've taught her well, haha.

Next up is some watercolor crayons. I'd never actually heard of these before but I found this unopened pack in my study and oh gosh I really love them! I've got no clue where they came from but I can tell I'll be using them a lot!

Now is this cute or what?! I originally saw this hoodie online and out of the blue my mum actually bought it for me!!

Finally is... Seche Vite! Yes yes I know I'm a bit late but I've finally jumped onto the Seche Vite bandwagon.

I don't really have much else to say, so I guess see you next time. x

31 Days of Nail Art Challenge - Day 3 - Yellow

Yellow.

Hmm... A colour that I'm still not totally happy wearing. You can tell its a colour I tend to avoid because I only have 3 (not including gold or glitter) yellow polishes!

Haha, maybe we'll learn to get along sometime in the future.

But for today, I thought simple would be better so here is Kleancolor 24 Carat over Collection 2000 lemon soda.
Ironically I actually quite like this!

Ah I can never win can I...

Holographic Stamping

Heey, okay this has got to be quick cos I've got loooaaaads to do and not enough time.

So basically yesterday I went to Cambridge with a few of my friends because we're part of the Cambridge GEEMA programme and so were invited to come along to a subject matters talk. It wasn't what I was expecting but anyways... On Friday we had traditional dress day at school and then straight after I went to stay over at my friends, hence the reason I'm only posting this now (and also hence the reason the photos aren't that great).

On our way to Cambridge we went through Kings Cross and guess what...? We saw Platform 9 3/4!!!

On my nails I was wearing GOSH Holographic Hero with some black fishnet stamping:
Ahh look at all that holo <3
I had to take these photo at night, thats why they are on the yellow side :/
Had to double stamp most of the nails... I really need to work on my positioning, it looks awful in these photos :s

Diwali

Happy Diwali!!!

May you have a wonderful day and prosperous new year!

One thing I wish for every time is that it was a bigger deal then it actually is... I mean today for instance, only my friends actually knew it was Diwali. I don't mean to complain because I'm the first to admit I'm not religious but... Oh I dunno... It just seems like Christmas is the only thing properly celebrated in this country. Oh well...

Anyway, we didn't even do much at home this year..

But thats not to say we did nothing.

I did a rangoli and my mum did mehndi:
My Rangoli
My mum did my mehndi (henna)
And we lit candles everyday:
Floating candles

And of course, I did my nails :)
This is Barry M Gold Foil stamped over Bourjois 1Seconde shade 9. I did this in about 5 minutes so excuse the messiness.

So whatever you did today, I hope you had a fabulous time. x

31 Days of Nail Art Challenge - Day 2 - Orange

Orange.

A colour that I once used to avoid. Mainly because I was scared of looking like I had mendi nails. I don't know... I just don't like having henna on my nails.

Buuut... I'm so over that now! I've learned that you can successfully wear orange and actually enjoy it! Haha.

So here is Rimmel Tangy Tangerine with some flakies and stamping over it:
Hmm, I dunno... To be honest I'm not a fan of them. I didn't even plan anything, just sort of started and went with it.

That said, that picture does it no justice at all. The flakies are so much more glowy and sparkly in real life. In the photo they just look dull and grey. :(

This was the best photo I could get of them:

Half Term and Hauling

Sigh, half term is over :(

But I genuinely needed that break. I guess it was because I just needed time to recover. Life can really take over, make you lose control and just totally tire you out!

BUT, that's not to say I was just sat at home sleeping. Oh no, far from it.  To be honest I don't even feel refreshed if I do that... Just even more tired! Actually, I was only home for two out of ten days.

The first weekend I was at my friends sleepover, that I've already told you about. Then on Sunday I went to Trafalgar Square to see Diwali on the Square. It was actually really good! Monday I was at home then on Tuesday I was off to my aunt/cousins house until Thursday to see them and their two daughters, who might I add are sooo cute and adorable! While there I went to a kids Halloween party on Wednesday where I did face painting. It was actually so crazy but still cool. And then on Friday I went off to my grandparents house with my mum to see them and my (slightly mad) cousins. Monday was only my second day at home. Soooo, in between all of that I had to get coursework, homework and (of course) shopping done! It was a busy week! But totally amazing!

I've already told you I went shopping... So what did I buy?

Well... A LOT!

Oops!
So here it is. (okay this is only about a third of it. It's the only spree I took a photo of... Imagine triple this amount and you'll probably start getting and idea of the amount I actually somehow managed to accumulate.)

And of course here's the polish:
Free Nails Inc

Okay that looks really bad! I feel kinda guilty now. :S

I actually got quite a lot of clothes for a change... Hmm maybe the clothes obsession is starting to kick its way back in..?

Ah well.. The next time I'm probably gonna go on a shopping trip/s like this will most likely be after Christmas so I guess that kind of in a way justifies this huge haul??

Anyway, I've been back to school since tuesday and I'm already ill so I've been stuck in bed yesterday and today :/

31 Days of Nail Art Challenge - Day 1 - Red

Red.

A colour that i used to hate simply because it was the only colour that I used to wear on my nails. It was only because that was all my mum had, she wasn't big on cosmetics (still isn't), and I think it may be an Asian/Indian thing but red was the only 'suitable' nail colour.

Oh well, we have kissed and made up now and I've started appreciating it again.

Sooo... What have got on for red nails??

China Glaze Ruby Pumps!
Ah I love this polish!

And because today is Guy Fawkes Night I went for a themed mani.
Fireworks!
Although I think this looks more Christmassy to be honest...

These are the polishes i used:

31 Day Nail Art Challenge.... Is here!

So I finally decided to go for it!

Starting on Monday for the next 31 weeks...

... Stephanie of Never mind suzi, Wendy of Wendy's delights and I (and anyone else who wants to take part, just let me know) will be taking on the 31 Day Challenge!

Instead of posting daily, which we all agreed would be too much, we're going to be posting once a week. This also gives us time to get on with other things, blog related or not.

Hopefully we all come up with some awesome manis, have fun and maybe even learn something new!

Feel free to join in too! (and add a link to your post so I check out you fabulous work too!)
